The second edition of Firenze Fashion 2008 closed with the Monnalisa fashion event on 27 June. Eight events in eight days between art, culture, entertainment and social commitment. All the initiatives took place in the wonderful, albeit in need of urgent care, Ammannati courtyard of Palazzo Pitti to underline once again that its restoration is at the center of all past and future editions of Firenze Fashion. Over two hundred and fifty guests at the suggestive inaugural dinner of the event on 16 June, including public authorities and entrepreneurs of the city, which recalled the splendor of the ancient palace with a spectacular tableau vivant in memory of the marriage between Maria de’ Medici and Henry IV of France ; the audio-tactile guided tour for the blind of the UIC (Unione Italiana Ciechi) of the courtyard and the presentation of the first Italian guide in Braille of the figures of the Florentine monuments curated by the Municipality of Florence; the entertaining puppet show for children on the life of Cosimo II de’ Medici from the Firenze Sottosopra association and, again for them, demonstrations of first aid techniques by the Misericordia del Duomo, the oldest in Italy; the review of historic Florentine establishments on the occasion of the white night of 21 June among artisans and traders who have made the history of Florence; the fashion and entertainment events of Classico Italia, Guess, Monnalisa which brought Italian fashion back there, Palazzo Pitti, where it set out to conquer the world more than fifty years ago and finally Stefano Ricci with his fascinating parade of vintage cars in the Boboli Gardens after crossing the city.
